The Sr. ColdFusion Developer will also be responsible for the following activities:

  • Delivering code changes to make six support applications compatible with Internet Explorer 11
  • Performing code unit testing before hand off to the client’s product verification team
  • Delivering code fixes for test defects found by the product verification team during the development cycle
  • Providing support during a 30-day period after code is deployed in production
  • Delivering fixes for production defects that were introduced as a result of code changes during the project
  • Adhering to proper software engineering and performance standards (changes must not impact existing performance standards)
  • Working with resources in the Service Center to monitor progress and report weekly status

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of experience using ColdFusion, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Experience in working with large companies as a software developer, preferably within the health insurance industry
  • Experience upgrading applications to be compatible with new versions of Internet Explorer

Ability to produce pieces of or all of the solution architecture documentation package and participate in the build, release, and deployment of scripts. Install/deploy code or stage code for deployment.

Responsibilities:
Designs, codes, and tests existing and new application components and modules for completion of web-based and other types of applications and systems. Create deployment packages utilizing enterprise versioning software in support of upgrades, migrations, and custom application remediation. Test and distribute deployment of code and solutions on to Client test servers and production servers.
Integrates software, tests and modifies components and application modules produced by outside vendors, contractors, suppliers, or other entities, so that these modules perform as designed in the agency environment.
Develops the necessary documentation for project statements of work, business requirements, storyboards, functional specifications, systems & end-user documentation through a process of meeting with customers and clients, documenting the requirements specified by those clients, and translating those requirements into project documentation and specifications.
Investigates errors and problems within application components and modules, remediates and solves these issues, and communicates these solutions to application customers and users using specific application defect-tracking methodology and software.
Report progress weekly to management and project manager.
