ColdFusion Job Opportunity in Rockville, MD

Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic project team in building maintaining enterprise grade software systems. The ideal candidate will provide technical application and end user support of web-based and thick client applications including the maintenance and monitoring of systems hosted in a high-availability infrastructure.Responsibilities/Duties :

  • Develop strong understanding of application requirements, implementation and support procedures
  • Monitor and administer applications running in Citrix, Windows and Unix environments by following SOPs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application runtime problems
  • Identify the root cause of recurring problems and recommend remediation steps
  • Participate in daily planning meetings using the Agile Kanban methodology
  • Analyze complex application use problems raised by customers, assess scope of impact, identify options for problem resolution and act to resolve issues
  • Interact with end users in understanding and resolving the issues
  • Communicate status of outstanding issues to customers and ensure the ticketing system is updated with the most recent actions and status
  • Assist users with configuration and troubleshooting of thick client applications installed on Windows desktops
  • Configure and deploy applications
  • Review application logs for errors, patterns and anomalies
  • Conduct application health assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures for Release Management, Incident & Change Management
  • Demonstrate continual process improvements by reviewing metrics and suggesting technology and/or process improvements to reduce the volume of incidents and mean time to recover
  • Perform occasional work outside standard business hours as part of an on-call rotation.
      • Mandatory Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills):

        • 3+ years of experience providing IT customer support, incident and change management, customer relationship management, troubleshooting problems and triaging support tickets
        • 3+ years of experience in IT server-side application administration
        • Experience with Linux, Solaris or Windows server operating systems plus Citrix and VMWare environments
        • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot runtime issues with complex software
        • Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating system use
        • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills.
        • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience

        Desired Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills):

        • Experience with EMC Documentum, SAP Business Objects, and/or ColdFusion application support
        • Knowledge of Oracle Database including the ability to write complex SQL queries
        • Experience with performance and monitoring tools for server-side and web-based applications
