Job Description :
Primary responsibility will be to support and lead software engineering projects at various stages in their software development following a full lifecycle methodology (Requirements Definition & Analysis, System Design, Construction, System Testing, Code Reviews, and Documentation). Normal activities include daily interaction with the customer(s) applying software engineering practices (Configuration Management and Change Control) both in software development and documentation, setting technology direction, managing the budget, and routine briefings. Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, possess an ability to solve technical problems requiring attention to detail, have demonstrated leadership, and have both collaborative and independent work process exposure. Candidate should have the ability to see “the big picture” and how one’s role in a project contributes to the greater strategic mission. Candidate should have the capacity to embrace diverse technical disciplines and have excellent customer intimacy skills (i.e. listening, understanding, questioning in a non-threatening manner, differentiating between customer’s wants and needs, and ability to deliver on those needs). This job requires the ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to learn new skills quickly while on the job. This position may require travel depending on project/program scope. Candidate must be able to obtain an “L” or “Q” clearance.
Strong Oracle, PL/SQL, MS SQL, and PowerBuilder development experience is required. Demonstrated examples of capabilities in at least two of the following skills; C#.Net, ASP.Net, C++, Coldfusion, Visual Studio, Java, JQuery, Objective C Must have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management. Must be experienced in project leadership Strong written and verbal communications skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to work both on a team and independently. Strong problem solving. Proven ability to plan, schedule, and deliver quality software. Ability to multi-task and effectively manage concurrent initiatives. The ability to prioritize work scopes. Occasional off-hours work may be required.
Experience with Crystal Reports. Experience with and knowledge of MKS Integrity Configuration Management tool or like software. Strong troubleshooting skills. A familiarity with Hanford Site projects and operations is preferred.
