ColdFusion Job Opportunity in New Orleans, LA

Under the general direction of the Director, the Program Manager for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Compliance provides expert advice and serves as a resource to international students, scholars and university departments on immigration regulations. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring Tulane’s compliance with SEVIS reporting requirements and immigration document issuance procedures for individuals in J-1 and F-1 status. A major component of ensuring Tulane’s SEVIS compliance involves maintenance of the OISS software system that interfaces with the SEVIS system. This position also contributes to the retention of international scholars and students and their successful completion of an academic course of study at Tulane through participation in programming offered by OISS and advising international students on personal, academic, and cultural affairs.

  • Ability to successfully complete SEVIS training and gain expert knowledge of J-1 and F-1 SEVIS reporting requirements and immigration document issuance procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residence is required, as mandated by federal regulations

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ software applications/systems implementation or 2 years’ international student advising/immigration experience OR High school diploma or equivalent and 8 years’ software applications/systems implementation experience or 8 years’ international student advising/immigration experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, and five years’ software applications/systems implementation experience to include customer service management in a higher education setting
  • Significant international experience that may include studying, living or working abroad, or interacting with international visitors
  • Experience working with Sunapsis, including alert systems, e-form development and implementation, reporting, and auto email setup
  • Detailed, expert knowledge of F and J immigration regulations and the SEVIS system, including SEVIS processes and alerts/reports and RTI and batch processes
  • Experience with Banner, SQL, and ColdFusion
  • Prior experience as a designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Office (ARO)
