Job description:

  • Ensure systems are patched regularly for security as well as operational/functional deficiencies. Provide operational and project support, and administration of multiple system landscapes.  Perform root-cause-analysis, as well as performance management and optimization.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for domain and infrastructure systems issues
  • Oversee continuous monitoring the health of the infrastructure servers
  • Develop policy, standards, disaster recovery and contingency plans, SOPs
  • Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and securing the domain infrastructure and its relative services
  • Responsible for server hardware/systems management, file systems backup and recovery operations, group policy development, configuration management
  • Design, implement and maintain enterprise configuration management and security systems
  • Supervise a team of system administrators
  • Architect, implement, and support application servers and application upgrades for:
  • Windows application servers (on premise and off premise)
  • Web application servers – IIS, Apache, WebLogic, Coldfusion
  • High-availability and fail-over architectures
  • Provide tier-2 and tier-3 support for existing application server based systems
  • Promote remediation of security vulnerabilities within the operating system and application software
  • Maintain disaster recovery procedures and testing
  • Support system performance monitoring and testing

Performance Measures:

  • On time, on schedule delivery of assigned projects.
  • SLAs met for Incidents raised / assigned.
  • Consistently improve Infrastructure practices and implementations.
  • Proactively assist in evaluation, recommendation of new solutions / technologies.

Experience:  

  • 5+ years of Windows systems administration experience
  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • Demonstrated, expert level knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop technologies including SCCM, SCOM, Active Directory, Windows Server 2012 R2, Hyper-V and Failover Clusters
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing large civilian government IT infrastructures
  • Experience and knowledge of network (LAN/WAN) architecture, protocols and equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in vulnerability management

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, web server computing and client server architecture is required
  • Knowledge of VMware 5.5 (VMware 6.0 is preferred)
  • Working knowledge of load balancing (F5 LTM) concepts strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of cloud architecture and management preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Knowledge of EMC SAN (Compellent SAN a plus)
  • Knowledge of EMC Avamar Backup preferred

Other:

  • ITIL certified a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of structured project management techniques.
