Position Description
 
A Software Engineer works within the development team to deliver scalable, high-performance ticketing solutions.  A Software Engineer is responsible for comprehensive development such as: creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting single and multi-site ColdFusion installations serving as ticketing platforms for clients. This includes incorporating forms, templates, and user interfaces with database-driven information, and implementing appropriate security measures. The Software Engineer ensures user-friendly websites that meet the needs of internal and external users by developing information architecture, designing and implementing user-friendly web interfaces. The Software Engineer reports to the V.P. of Technology in Los Angeles.
 
Position Duties
  1.  Integration of ColdFusion and .NET components for both front-end and back-end application modules
  2. Develop shared native java libraries to be used by both ColdFusion and .NET application modules
  3. Play a leading role in supporting and enhancing the architecture and the framework of a ColdFusion Application
  4. Integrate automated test scripts developed in Selenium
  5. Specification, design, development, and debugging of scalable and high-performance, service-based web applications
  6. Play a leading role in supporting and enhancing the architecture and the framework of a ColdFusion Application
  7. Help guide the technology directions by recommending specific technologies to pursue, suggesting training and staff development activities, and monitoring the technology horizon
  8. Conduct performance-testing by using application profiler and load-testing tools
  9. Identify and resolve potential application security vulnerabilities
  10. Define and implement automated build, deployment, and testing procedures
  11. Provide support and mentoring to other developers
  12. Conduct design and code reviews
  13. Lead the Development of ColdFusion Components (CFC) with optimized performance 
Candidate Requirements

  • Hands-on experience integrating Coldfusion and .NET in a high availability, high traffic web environment
  • Hands-on experience working with Quality Assurance & Testing to integrate automated test scripts into the build process
  • Hands-on experience developing and integrating native java libraries within an existing ColdFusion and .NET environment
  • 2+ years of experience in defining application/system architecture and implementing reusable and robust application frameworks for web applications
  • 4+ years of programming experience in two or more of the following: ColdFusion, Java, C++,  JavaScript, JQuery, Web Services and API development using REST or SOAP
  • 4+ years of experience with one or more of the following databases: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis or other MySQL technologies
  • Strong knowledge of application-profiling and performance-tuning
  • Ability to accurately estimate software development tasks given a set of requirements and assumptions; ability to work with Project Managers to develop task-level project plans and proposals
  • Strong understanding of application security principles and best practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of developer
  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science OR related technical discipline. Equivalent experience also considered.
