DMI is currently seeking to hire a ColdFusion Developer for a Federal Government customer on a long-term contract in the Chesapeake, VA area.
The Developer will be working at the USCG Finance Center (FINCEN) on the System Development Agent (SDA) team; you will be responsible for maintaining several applications written in ColdFusion 8.
The Developer will be developing/maintaining client applications and solutions per design and timelines. Identify and report potential development issues impacting timelines Perform unit and benchmark testing for developed applications. Work with PM, other I.T. sections, QA, and DBAs, and business analysts that may involve project coordination, clarification of requirements, or resolution of operational problems
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Familiar with SDCL life cycle and process
- Perform analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents.
- Resolves defects encountered during various testing cycle
- Code, test and implement programs
- Develop system documentation according to established standards
- Provide operational support to existing applications
- Open to collaborate, pair, review code, discuss solutions
- Ability to work nights, weekends and/or holidays on an as needed basis to accommodate a 24/7 team requirement
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Experience with Adobe suite of development tools
- 2-5 years of ColdFusion development experience
- Knowledge of SQL (MS SQL and/or Oracle)
- Understands the concepts, practices and procedures of common software development methodologies and associated artifacts, and can apply them to
- Ability to communicate well and strong interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented individual with strong analytical approach to solving problems
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner
- Experience working both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented structure
- Adaptable to new tools, technologies, environment and learning
- Flexible and willing to move between tasks as needed
Beneficial Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in supporting product development environment a plus
- Experience in financial management and accounting systems
- Expertise with analytical tool suites
- Experience with the USCG FINCEN
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- BA/BS or 4 years relevant experience
- AA/AS and 2 years relevant experience
- Security+ Certification or higher DOD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II compliant (or ability to obtain within 6 months of start)
