ColdFusion Job Opportunity in Leesburg, VA

Tagence is hiring an experienced web designer to work with an exacting government customer to re-engineer an essential support website. The agency has introduced new standards for design, navigation and branding. This position will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the design meets both agency specifications and user expectations, and work with programmers to execute the design.

Applicants must submit a resume and at least three links to websites they have designed, including one large corporate or government site for which they were a key designer. Duties include:

  • Managing relationships with the customer’s technical and project leads
  • Analyzing and testing the current site to identify needed changes
  • Attending iterative meetings with user groups to gather information, present wireframes and sitemaps, and revise plans as necessary
  • Communicating design requirements and changes to programmers accurately
  • Ensuring final product is compliant with agency requirements and Section 508

Required skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in execution from concept to site launch with a comprehensive knowledge of development and testing
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Working knowledge and experience building Section 508 compliant websites
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces, Web standards and usability
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in design and development of large, complex custom-coded websites
  • Familiarity with the following tools and technologies: ColdFusion, ColdBox, Oracle/PL/SQL or MS SQL, jQuery, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XSLT, XML

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or additional two years’ experience
